LIP BLUSHING  (Transluscent Color)

Lip Blushing is the newest and most popular semi-permanent procedure trending for the enhancement of the lips  This cosmetic tattoo procedure uses soft toned pigments to restore the natural color and vibrancy of the lips, making them appear more youthful.  Lip Blushing is ideal for both men and women who are looking to enhance or restore their natural lip color, while adding soft shaping and delicate definition. This service focuses on enhancing the color and shape of the lips with translucent color so the natural lip texture shines through.  If you would like to create a lip enhancement that looks very soft and natural – you may be interested in lip blushing. Pairs well with lip fillers.

DUO-TONE  (Air brushed Shading)

Duo Tone lip artistry uses a special shading technique that creates an “air-brushed” effect when the lips are healed.  Your custom lip palette will be designed by our master lip artist Evie Delaney.  The bi-tone effect will include a diffused lip liner that fades to the center bow of the mouth, giving the illusion of fuller poutier lips. This technique is done with lip colors that are layered and blended to build velvety volume.  Lips are shaded from a deeper tone around the lip line, to a softer tone in the center of the mouth. Think of a watercolor effect. Perfect for those who are wanting to enhance or correct their overall lip shape and give the illusion of more volume.  A sophisticated look that pairs well with lip fillers.

ULTRA MATTE (Solid Lip Color)

Ultra-Matte lip shading will give you solid color with a defined but opaque lip liner and a single custom-color lip shade. This technique mimics the look of lipstick when healed and is very forgiving. We can match your favorite lipstick shade or help you select the perfect color.  Ideal for corrective lip shaping or if you struggle with fine lines around the mouth and need stronger definition.  Ultra Matte color can also be used to correct or camouflage cleft palettes or hide pigment loss from accidents, burns, Mohs surgery or hypo-pigmentation. (Not recommended for clients experiencing vitiligo pigment loss).  A classic look that pairs well with fillers.

Natural Tone Lip Liner (Single Color)

Lip lining without a full color fill is available for individuals who desire the softest shape enhancement.

WHAT YOU MAY OBSERVE

  1. Your lip color may appear overly dark and dramatic immediately after procedure.  This will correct itself within 3-7 days for most clients as the kin underneath the tattooed area heals.  The dark color is just an illusion caused by skin that has been disrupted from the procedure.  It will fade quickly.  The surface lip color will peel completely off in just a few days, leaving only a light base color.  Your lip colors will re-appear between the 3rd and the 6th week. This is called blooming.  The final color will be about 30-50% of the initial color.  Lips could appear slightly asymmetrical during the first two weeks due to internal tissue swelling.  Do not be concerned as this will correct itself and is considered normal.
  2. You may find that your color heals too light too light – or that you need to refine the edge of the lip line. This occurs in about 25% of our clients. Should you need a perfection session to replace lost pigment or to correct anything about your color or shape, please contact us as soon as possible to schedule a perfection session, within 90-days of your initial procedure.  All touch-ups completed during this time frame will be $45 to cover anesthetics and disposables.  You will need to wait at least 6 to 8 weeks before we can do a perfection session (if one is required). This allows sufficient time for the tattooed skin to heal.
  3. If you have ever had fever blisters and you did not pre-medicated with an anti-herpidic, you may experience an outbreak of cold sores following your procedure.  If this occurs, please contact your physician immediately for a suppressive dose of Valtrex or comparable product. Ask your pharmacist which over the counter ointments will aid in immediate healing and discomfort. ** STOP using Aquaphor or Vaseline if you get fever blisters.   You will need to take Valtrex prior to any perfection sessions and for all future boosters.

LIP POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cleanse lips using only water and wash cloth to gently exfoliate dead skin when they begin to peel.  Do not rub aggressively.
  2. Apply Aquaphor ointment to your lips all throughout the day during the healing process.  Use ointment for two weeks as a lip gloss to help heal and protect your lips.  This will keep your lips moist and help the color to heal evenly in your skin.  If you have a reaction (itching or redness) to this topical ointment, discontinue using immediately and apply only Vaseline.
  3. Do NOT apply lipstick or lip liner to the lips until 2 weeks following the procedure.
  4. Cold compress or an over-the-counter anti-inflammatory can be used for swelling or discomfort.
  5. Do not apply anti-aging or rejuvenation products at any time over the top of tattooed lip color as this may cause premature fading of color.
  6. Do not expose your tattooed lips to sunbathing, pools, saltwater, hot tubs or saunas for 2-weeks immediately following procedure.
  7. ALWAYS wear a protective sunscreen ointment (SPF 15) over lips to protect color when you have sun exposure.

Who is not a candidate for Traditional Cosmetic Lip Enhancement?

Individuals whose natural lip color is a dark flesh tone or a cool or deep brown tone are not candidates for traditional cosmetic lip enhancement; however, we do have the option to use Lip Neutralization or Lip Lightening Techniques to correct or camouflage the skin for individuals who have cooler toned complexions. This allows up to create a more pleasing over all color while balancing and adding warmth to the lips.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Pregnant women need to wait until 6 weeks after the birth of the child for any tattoo
    procedure. There is no known contraindications for women who are breast feeding.
  • If you have an “active” VITILIGO anywhere on your body, you will not be a candidate.  You must wait until you are in remission for one year.
  • You will need to wait 48 hrs before or after BOTOX around the mouth.
  • You will need to wait 2 weeks after fillers in the lips.
