Lighten Dark & Red Scars with Scar Camouflage

Not all scars fade the way we hope. Many remain darker, red, or visibly different from the surrounding skin long after healing. Scar camouflage tattooing offers a highly advanced, non-surgical solution to soften, lighten, and blend scars into your natural skin tone.
What Is Scar Camouflage Tattooing?
Scar camouflage is a specialized paramedical tattoo technique designed to soften the appearance of scars that remain discolored long after the skin has healed. Our artist uses custom-blended pigments formulated to neutralize the discoloration in the scar tissue, and blend it seamlessly into the surrounding skin. Unlike traditional tattooing, the goal is not to add color, but to restore the appearance of an even, natural skin tone across the scarred area.
This technique is ideal for men and women of all ethnicities, and is a highly customizable, non-invasive option for individuals who have tried other scar treatments without satisfactory results.
How We Lighten Dark & Red Scars
⦁ Neutralize red and purple tones using complementary pigment shades
⦁ Soften dark pigmentation with layered, skin-matched tones
⦁ Gradual, layered process applied over multiple sessions for a natural, blended result

Every scar is different, so we take the time to carefully evaluate the scar’s color, texture, and depth before beginning. The artistry involves layering pigments in micro-deposits to gradually shift the scar’s tone toward the surrounding skin. This process is refined session by session, with results building progressively for a seamless, natural appearance.
Who Is a Good Candidate?
⦁ Scars that are at least 1 year old, flat, and fully healed
⦁ Ideal for surgical scars, injury scars, and stretch marks
⦁ Safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types (I–VI)
Scar camouflage works best on scars that are no longer changing, meaning they have matured, flattened, and are no longer pink or actively healing. We work with a wide variety of body areas and scar types — below are just a few examples of scars we camouflage regularly.

Why Multiple Sessions Are Necessary
⦁ Most clients require 2–4 sessions to achieve optimal results
⦁ Sessions are spaced 8–10 weeks apart
⦁ Allows pigment to settle properly between appointments
Scar camouflage is a layered art form. Because every scar accepts pigment a little differently, each session builds on the last to achieve a gradual, natural-looking blend. Rushing the process can compromise the outcome, so we intentionally pace sessions to allow the skin to heal fully and the pigment to fully settle before refining the work.
What to Expect During Healing
⦁ Immediately after treatment: the treated area may appear darker than the final result
⦁ Days 3–10: mild flaking, and the pigment may look uneven as the skin sheds
⦁ Weeks 2–6: softening and blending as the pigment settles
⦁ 8–10 weeks: true results become visible, and the next session can be scheduled
Patience is essential during the healing process. The pigment needs time to fully integrate with your skin before its true tone shows, and what you see in the first two weeks is not the final outcome. Detailed aftercare instructions will be provided to help you achieve the best possible results.
